About Nordic Cinema Group

The Challenge/Task

Bridgepoint asked Pragma to undertake a review of the business to understand the strength of its current commercial offer in Sweden, Norway and Finland. In addition, we were asked to compare this offer with sites in more developed markets to understand what potential existed to develop this proposition further.

What We Did

Site visits to over 25 cinemas across the three geographies to understand the commercial offer and score each location against Pragma’s bespoke Cinemafx. Pragma assessed the sites on key metrics including overall experience, current offer and execution, location and ability to enhance commercial revenue

Benchmarked the business against UK cinema chains, to understand the difference between NCG’s current performance and leading operators

Developed case studies on UK cinema chains to identify how NCG could develop its commercial proposition further. This work specifically focused on key trends impacting non-ticket revenue

We believe there is scope to further enrich the whole cinema experience, from the venue in itself, sound, seats and availability to food and drinks. We also see potential for NCG to accelerate its growth in the region and in adjacent countries at a time when the popularity of film and cinema remains a buoyant part of the entertainment industry.
